Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker competitor on the globe by many of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people destroy his dream of being one of the best poker players on the planet.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Even though Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
