No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the detrimental feedback from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. He admits to making errors in each session of poker and always aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
